Terms of Service

Last updated: December 1, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using skwod ("the Service"), operated by Flayr Labs LLC ("we", "us", or "the Company"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

skwod is a private communication and social platform that provides text chat, voice and video channels, stories, a social feed, and file sharing. The Service is available as a self-hosted open-source application, a managed hosted service, and native mobile applications.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use skwod. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post, upload, or share through the Service, including messages, images, videos, audio, and files ("User Content"). By sharing User Content, you grant Flayr Labs LLC a limited license to transmit and store it as necessary to provide the Service. For self-hosted instances, User Content remains entirely on your infrastructure.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Distribute malware, spam, or any harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users

6. Paid Services

Certain features require payment, including the mobile application (one-time purchase) and managed hosting (monthly subscription). All purchases are final unless otherwise required by applicable law. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable.

7. Self-Hosted Instances

If you self-host skwod, you are solely responsible for your infrastructure, data backups, security, and compliance with applicable laws. Flayr Labs LLC provides the software "as is" and is not liable for any data loss or security breaches on self-hosted instances.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the managed Service at our discretion for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data on managed instances will be deleted within 30 days.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flayr Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
